Sinusitis Treatment can be divided into 4 main categories: Conservative, Antibiotics, Corticosteroids, and Surgery.
Conservative Sinusitis Treatment involves: Decongestant nasal sprays containing oxymetazoline. They provide relief from symptoms, but should not be used for an extended period of time. Use for an extended time period could result in rebound Sinusitis.
Antibiotics Sinusitis Treatment involves: the use of amoxicillin for cases in which the condition is not resolved within 7 days.
Corticosteroids Sinusitis Treatment involves: Corticosteroids alone or in combination with an antibiotic, but use of Corticosteroids is only effective in cases of confirmed sinusitis.
Surgery Sinusitis Treatment: this option can be considered for chronic and/or recurring sinusitis.
Recovery from Sinusitis Treatment:
Depending upon the type of treatment necessary to alleviate the symptoms and/or condition for each individual patient the recovery and prognosis varies.
